This May, Riccardo Frizza opens Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. The production runs from May 17 to June 1 and features Joyce DiDonato and Silvia Tro Santafé as Romeo, Patrizia Ciofi and Ekaterina Siurina as Giulietta, and Antonino Siragusa and Celso Albelo as Teblado.
With sumptuous costumes by Christian Lacroix and Robert Schwaighofer, I Capuleti e i Montecchi was previously presented by the Bayerische Staatsoper and San Francisco Opera with Maestro Frizza at the helm.
Audiences can enjoy a question and answer session with Silvia Tro Santafé, Celso Albelo and Maestro Frizza in the foyer of the Gran Teatre del Liceu on Sunday, May 8 at 6pm.
