Riccardo Frizza opens Maria Stuarda at the Metropolitan Opera


Following the premiere of Stéphane Braunschweig’s production of Norma at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Riccardo Frizza travels to New York for Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda.

Opening January 29, Maria Stuarda features Sondra Radvanovsky as the doomed Mary, Queen of Scots, Elza van den Heever as Elisabetta, Celso Albelo as Leicester, Patrick Carfizzi and David Pershall alternating the role of Cecil, and Kwangchul Youn as Talbot.

Performances run January 29 to February 20.
