Riccardo Frizza leads Norma in Lyric Opera of Chicago debut

On the heels of the “exhilarating” production of Attila at Venice’s Teatro La Fenice, Riccardo Frizza travels to the United States to make his Lyric Opera of Chicago debut with Bellini’s Norma (Bachtrack).

A leading interpreter of bel canto repertoire, Maestro Frizza reunites with soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role, who he worked with last season on Maria Stuarda at the Metropolitan Opera. The production, new to the Chicago theater, also features Elisabeth DeShong as Adalgisa, Russell Thomas as Pollione, and Andrea Silvestrelli as Oroveso.

Norma opens at the Lyric Opera of Chicago on January 28, with additional performances on February 1, 5, 9, 13, 18, and 24.
