Riccardo Frizza, “the great expert on Verdi,” brings the story of Joan of Arc to life in a recording of Verdi’s Giovanna d’Arco from the 39th Festival della Valle d’Itria.
The Italian conductor leads a cast that includes Jessica Pratt, Jean-François Borras, Julien Kim, Roberto Cervellera, and Emanuele Cordaro alongside the Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia and Chorus of the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari.

This spring, Riccardo Frizza leads the Teatro Massimo Orchestra in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, marking his first time conducting Donizetti’s work as well as his house debut. Alternating the title role are Nadine Sierra and Elena Mosuc, alongside Marco Caria and Simone Del Savio as Enrico, and Giorgio Berrugi and Jean-François Borras as Edgardo.
The production opens on March 30, with performances on March 31 and April 1, 2, 3, and 5.
